One thing that seems to come up again and again on various admin sites, is the endless discussion of 'things that were bad' with forum software many years ago.
Most commonly, this manifests itself with people who don't like vBulletin, dragging up stuff from many years ago, usually they present this as if it is the present situation.
However, it's not just vBulletin. Quite often I see mention of the XenForo developers 'being prone to just disappearing', despite the fact that they did this once only, and it was many years ago.
Usually this stuff gets brought up when someone is considering buying the software.
My take is that it's not really relevant....if it was years ago then really it is best to talk about how things are now...or at least, the last year or so. Not many years back. What are your thoughts?
